A New Feature: "Military Mondays"

Here on MrsMamaHen, I have decided to create a new feature. It will be called "Military Mondays" where I will highlight and introduce military spouses out there in the blogging world.

Thre are many creative and interesting military spouses out there, sometimes living in some very interesting places. So, let's get to know some!

I will contact a blogger the week prior, to give them a heads-up and a chance to prepare a "Hello!" post if they wish.

I shared this so others can one visit her blog, which is AWESOME!! :) And two so other spouses can participate

When God Created the Military Wife

When the Lord was creating a military wife He ran into His sixth day of overtime. An angel appeared and said, "You're having a lot of trouble with this one. What's wrong with the standard model?"
The Lord replied, "Have you seen the specs on this order? It has to be completely independent but must always be sponsored to get on a military installation. It must have the qualities of both mother and father during deployments, be a perfect host to 4 or 40, handle emergencies without an instruction manual, cope with flu and moves all around the world, have a kiss that cures anything from a child's bruised knee to a husband's weary days, have the patience of a saint when waiting for its mate to come home and, have six pairs of hands."
The angel shook her head slowly and said, "Six pairs of hands? No way." The Lord answered, "Don't worry; we will make other military wives to help. Besides, it's not the hands that are causing the problem, it's the heart. It must swell with pride, sustain the ache of numerous separations while remaining true, beat soundly even when it feels too tired to do so, be large enough to say 'I understand' when it doesn't, and say 'I love you', regardless.
"Lord," said the angel, gently touching His sleeve. "Go to bed. You can finish it tomorrow." "I can't," said the Lord. "I'm so close to creating something quite unique. Already it can heal itself when sick, on a moment’s notice it will willingly embrace and feed total strangers who have been stranded during a PCS move and it can wave goodbye to its husband understanding why he had to leave."
The angel circled the model of the military wife very slowly. "It's too soft," she sighed.
"But tough," the Lord said excitedly. "You cannot imagine what this being can do or endure."
"Can it think?" asked the angel. "Can it think?! It can convert 1400 to 2 p.m.," replied the Lord.
Finally the angel bent over and ran her finger across the cheek. "There's a leak," she said. "I told you that you were trying to put too much into this model." It's not a leak," said the Lord. "It's a tear." "What's it for?" asked the angel. "It's for joy, sadness, pain, loneliness and pride." "You're a genius," said the angel.
Looking at her somberly, the Lord replied, "I didn't put it there."

Happy Friday!!

Hey Everyone! So Today I went to the dr for my 36 weeks check up!  Can't believe I am FINALLY 36 weeks.  Well all is good. Xavier is healthy, happy, & right on track. I go back in 2 weeks Jan 21st for 38week check up.. hopefully I am able to have my membranes scraped. Then as long as my cervix is able I will be induced Jan 27th. :) My due date is Feb 3rd. So either way not long. But HOPE TO GOD THAT I GET INDUCED!

We have so much going on. We have a BIG stress factor happening right now. Like stress to the point I am having contractions & gettin major headaches & puking. :( In 3 days I have lost 3 pounds. Not good. I can't explain the bad stress factor going on so I ask for your positive thoughts and prayers please.

On other good notes, mostly good anyways our lives are busy! Which is usually why I have not been updating as much. Tuesday I have breastfeeding class. My hubby did not go to training this month, prayer answered. So that is good... he will be here for the birth. My mom is looking at flying up Jan 26th. My dad is gonna follow but closer to we know that our son is here, he is only able to take 9days off from work. So he doesn't wanna come and then I do not have the baby. We also have Thomas dad & his wife and 3 girls coming to visit. They are in our area for a while but only seeing us for like 3 days. Well maybe, bc the days they are here are days that we have plans already.
Look at this craziness:
Jan 11: Breastfeeding class.
Jan 16th: Thomas & I 2 year anniversary on being together. (not yrs married til April)
Jan 21: dr apt
Jan 26: My mom should b here.
Jan 27: if my cervix is able I will be induced.
Feb 3rd: My due Date.
Feb 12: Thomas dad visits
Feb 13: MY dads 50th birthday
Feb 14- <3 Valentine's DAy
Feb 15: My 21st birthday & the day his dad leaves.
And the end of Feb. Thomas mom is supposed to come and visit.
& in March MY friend Michelle might come and visit.
Then April is my hubby's deployment.

(see why I said we are hoping to have time with Thomas dad and all that bc MY dads birthday, valentines day, and my birthday are all in there, which we said to not visit til after my birthday but like what we wanted mattered.) So we hope to spend some time with them. We have plans for vday & my birthday for sure. Plus our new born son plays HUGE part as well.. so we will see how this plays out.

So much happening and mostly good. :)

Sorry this is a long post...

So I want to apologize for being MIA for the last few weeks. I have been getting on here to read everyone's blogs.. so I have been keeping up with your lives at least...just not posting on my end. It has been rough this last few weeks. I have been on a roller coaster. I want to Thank you all for not deserting me during that time. Love all my readers! :)

Christmas was good for us. It was a small and very laid back Christmas. Hubby and I had our Christmas here at home, it was very nice. We realized that this is the last Christmas that it will be just me and him. As well as, our last holidays that are sleeping in, relaxing and not so stressful. All due to the face that our first born will be here next holidays and we want 4 kids so it will get more crazy from kids, family, traveling to see others etc. :) But we are looking forward to it all. Well anyways, my hubby got me a keurig coffee maker for Christmas, this was my big gift & I was UTTERLY shocked that he actually bought it for me. I also got a EOD Family cookbook, & the game TABOO, this is my FAVORITE game to play, & he got me Despicable Me. I got him a Beer Making Kit, a anarchist cookbook, I made him a frame & I got him a awesome box that I decorated the inside. As well as I finished and gave him the deployment blanket I have been working. Which you guys know from my posts and pictures about it all. :) After we had our Christmas we went to our friend Lyssa's house for dinner and gift exchange. Which i posted pictures below of things that I helped the kids with for thier mom. I made a pillow (my hubby helped as well when my sewing machine was being mean to me). The pillow fabric is I LOVE MOM and then each kid has their hand print sewn to the pillow. The girls painted a plaque for her as well. Then we had a awesome fun game night. :) My hubby got drunk which was interested l0l. But it was a great and different Christmas. Here are some pictures. If you want to see more, they are post on my fb which the link is on my blog.

This is 128 hours and 25 min. of work. :) Are you sure your ready to FINALLY see the FINISHED product? Remember this is over 6ft LONG/TALL...
Okay okay here it is:
All Finished!! What do you think?

My hubby being silly...

He was VERY happy with out it turned out & that I was finally done

Not even 5 min after I finished he was using it l0l

Well That pretty much catches everyone up for our holidays. New Years I went shopping with Lyssa and her 2 girls. Then had dinner with Thomas, Lyssa, & her 3 kids. Then came home and went to bed off & one til 1am before I was finally able to pass out.  It was a long New Years Eve Day/Night. And Today Jan 1st 2011 is full of relaxing and trying to get some strength back l0l. I have more that I want to write about, 2010 highlights. What is coming up for us :) which is VERY exciting. But I will wait. I know this is a LONG post already. So keep a eye out. I am finally out of my slump of depression and able and wanting to write again. :) Thank God! I could not take much more of my emotional roller coaster and breakdowns. I am very blessed that I have had my hubby and friends and family here to help me through it all. As well as My followers and other bloggers. Reading your posts (even tho I have not been posting) helped me out a lot. So Thank you!

Happy New Year Everyone!!! :)
